Faith is hoping for things which are not seen which are true.

"Our doctrine is clear; we are to be positive and of good cheer. We emphasize our faith, not our fears. We rejoice in the Lord’s assurance that He will stand by us and give us guidance and direction. The Holy Ghost testifies to our hearts that we have a loving Father in Heaven, whose merciful plan for our redemption will be fulfilled in every aspect because of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ." (Elder Quentin L. Cook, Ensign May 2012)

33 And Christ hath said: a If ye will have b faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is c expedient in me. (The Book of Mormon :Another Testament of Jesus Christ, Moroni 7:33)
The highest form of Faith =Power (Elder Poulson, Ensign May 2009 page 39)

And behold, Enoch a saw the day of the coming of the Son of Man, even in the flesh; and his soul rejoiced, saying: The Righteous is lifted up, and the b Lamb is slain from the foundation of the world; and through c faith I am in the bosom of the Father, and behold, d Zion is with me.(Moses 7:47)
The power of faith is evident in the fact that Enoch's city of Zion was brought up to be with God because of their faith

"And after that he came men also were asaved by faith in his name; and by faith, they become the bsons of God. And as surely as Christ liveth he spake these words unto our fathers, saying: cWhatsoever thing ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is good, in faith believing that ye shall receive, behold, it shall be done unto you" Moroni 7:26
